LABLINK BY CAREGAP
LabLink runs on a live Quest Diagnostics interface. Order tests and pull structured results through one API, on HIPAA-compliant infrastructure. Bring your existing Quest account or start a new one, and bill the way your business works.
You choose how you work with Quest and who pays for the test. LabLink supports all of it on the same rails.
ALREADY A QUEST CUSTOMER
Keep your existing Quest relationship and use LabLink as the ordering, results and patient record layer on top of it. Same pricing as new customers, including onboarding.
NEW TO QUEST
We verify your NPI and license, file your Quest subaccount and track it through to a client number. Your sandbox works the whole time.
Client Bill
BILLED TO YOUR ORGANIZATION
Quest bills your subaccount at Quest's program rates. You decide what your patient pays inside your own app.
Patient Cash
BILLED TO THE PATIENT
Quest bills the patient at its standard patient pricing. Program rates do not apply.
Patient Insurance
BILLED TO THE HEALTH PLAN
Quest bills the patient's health plan. Program rates do not apply. Insurance details and ICD-10 codes are required.
CareGap provides ordering and results technology. CareGap does not sell, bill or collect for laboratory testing.
Three platform fees. They apply to every order, whatever the bill type, and never move with the price of the test.
$1,500
Subaccount onboarding · one time
NPI and license verification, Quest subaccount setup, API keys, sandbox access and BAA. Applies to new and existing Quest customers.
$2–$5
Order platform fee · per order
Graduated by monthly volume. The more you order in a month, the less each additional order costs.
$1.00
Patient record · per patient, per year
Each patient record maintained on HIPAA-compliant infrastructure. Billed annually.
| TIER | MONTHLY ORDERS | PER ORDER |
|---|---|---|
| Tier 1 | 1 to 100 | $5.00 |
| Tier 2 | 101 to 500 | $3.00 |
| Tier 3 | 501 and above | $2.00 |
Tiers are graduated: each order is charged at the rate for its position in the month, and earlier orders are not repriced. The count resets on the first day of each calendar month.
Order platform fees
$1,100.00
(100 × $5.00) + (200 × $3.00)
Excludes onboarding, patient record fees, taxes and laboratory testing.
Indicative pricing. Final terms are set in the CareGap Platform Agreement. Fees exclude applicable taxes and are charged to the payment method on file.
And the moment real lab results come back, that patient record has to sit on HIPAA-compliant infrastructure. That base layer is included — testing stacks on top of it.
LAYER 3
Your brand, your checkout, your clinical workflow, your patient experience.
LAYER 2
What you are here for. Ordered through CareGap's live Quest interface.
LAYER 1 · GROUND ZERO
Not a customer list. A patient on compliant infrastructure — required before any order can exist.
Sign up at lablink.caregap.io, sign, integrate. You do not have to meet anyone to get started.
NPI and state license verified. Tell us whether you have a Quest account already and which bill types you will use.
The CareGap Platform Agreement and BAA, e-signed before go-live.
Onboarding is charged up front. Platform fees are charged to the payment method on file. Card data is handled by Stripe.
We set up your Quest subaccount, or connect the account you already have, and track it to a client number. Your sandbox works the whole time.
API keys issued, and the test compendium and draw-site list scoped to your account.
An automated test order and result round trip. Pass the suite and your account flips to production.
Steps 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6 are automated. Step 4 is not — Quest subaccount setup is a human process on Quest's side that typically takes several business days. So: sandbox in minutes, production in days. You can build the entire integration while the paperwork clears.
FOR DEVELOPERS — AND THEIR AGENTS
A REST API with separate sandbox and production base URLs, one error shape, and docs written for people and AI coding agents alike.
Create and look up patients, with your own externalId so a retry never makes a duplicate.
Search the Quest catalog by name or order code, and read each test's ask-at-order-entry questions.
Patient, tests, provider and answers in one request. CareGap completes the questionnaire and provider authorization for you.
Follow each requisition step by step. Anything left to do comes back as actionRequired, with the call that finishes it.
Signed events when Quest receives a requisition and when results are posted — for sandbox and production separately.
Try every call from the console in sandbox and copy the exact request your integration would send.
Most teams find at least one of these late. Read them now, not after you have built the checkout.
Every order requires a licensed ordering provider with an active NPI. If you have your own clinician or a telehealth group, you are ready. CareGap does not originate lab orders.
Both are signed before go-live. Final pricing terms are set in the Platform Agreement.
Insurance orders need the patient's insurance details and ICD-10 codes. If you client bill and re-bill your patients, some states regulate that through direct-bill, anti-markup and disclosure rules — have counsel review before you publish pricing.
Real lab results are protected health information the moment they land. Members in a web app are not the same thing as patients on HIPAA-compliant infrastructure. That layer is included, so this one is already handled.
You are not waiting on an integration to be built. You are getting access to one that already runs in production.
A live Quest interface with HL7 and file handling already in place, moving real orders and real results today.
Test codes kept current for Quest, so you are ordering against a catalog that matches what the lab actually runs.
Your data is scoped to your tenant, exposed through a FHIR layer, with audit logging on every order and result.
Intake, results and patient communication carry your brand, not ours.
Patient, provider and program-level views, each built for the person looking at it.
HIPAA-compliant, encrypted workflows with a BAA. CLIA certification and licensure sit with Quest.
A $1,500 one-time subaccount onboarding fee, an order platform fee of $5.00, $3.00 or $2.00 per order graduated by monthly volume, and $1.00 per patient record per year. Laboratory testing is billed separately by Quest according to the bill type on each order. Pricing is indicative; final terms are set in the CareGap Platform Agreement.
Yes. LabLink works with existing Quest customers and with organizations that are new to Quest. Pricing is the same either way, including the $1,500 one-time onboarding fee. Tell us which you are at signup and we take it from there.
Yes. You can order as Client Bill, Patient Cash or Patient Insurance. Insurance orders are billed by Quest to the patient's health plan and require insurance details and ICD-10 codes. You can use different bill types for different orders.
That depends on the bill type. Client Bill orders are billed by Quest to your subaccount at Quest's program rates. Patient Cash orders are billed by Quest to the patient at its standard patient pricing. Insurance orders are billed to the plan. CareGap does not sell, bill or collect for laboratory testing.
Yes. The onboarding, order platform and patient record fees are technology fees and apply to every order, regardless of bill type.
Each order is charged at the rate for its position in the month: orders 1 to 100 at $5.00, 101 to 500 at $3.00, and 501 and above at $2.00. Earlier orders are not repriced, and the count resets on the first of each month. 300 orders in a month is (100 × $5.00) + (200 × $3.00) = $1,100.
Yes. Every order requires a licensed ordering provider with an active NPI, whoever pays for the test. If you have your own clinician or a telehealth partner, you are covered. If you do not have one yet, tell us below and we will point you at options.
On Client Bill orders you set your own retail price inside your app. Roughly half the states regulate re-billing lab work through direct-bill, anti-markup or disclosure statutes, so have counsel review before you publish pricing.
Yes, as an add-on through our mobile phlebotomy partner, in addition to Quest patient service centers.
Yes. The CareGap build team can design, build and maintain your branded app or portal on top of LabLink. Book a call and we will scope it.
